There will be a Very Informal Gathering of
Logicians at UCLA (VIG), from Friday,
February 4, to Sunday, February 6, 2011. This is the sixteenth in a series
of logic meetings at UCLA, which started in 1976.
This VIG is organized to honor
Yiannis Moschovakis
on the occasion of his formal retirement from UCLA. The focus of the gathering is on
areas of logic related to Moschovakis's work, including descriptive set theory, theoretical computer science, philosophical logic and linguistics, and complexity. Invited speakers include:

The gathering will begin at
2pm on Friday, February 4, with the last
talk ending by 1pm on Sunday, February 6. (Click

There will be a very informal party in honor of Moschovakis on Saturday.
Travel grants to attend the gathering are available for graduate students,
and junior faculty members
without federal research grants. Mathematicians from
underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply. To

with the following information: your contact details and affiliation; your
professional status, including year and name of advisor in case of students; and
a brief statement about your background and your interest in the gathering. If you are a faculty member please tell us whether you hold a federal research grant.
