The Undergraduate Research Center – Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences is excited to launch its second year of the Spring into Research program. Applications are due by March 1st.
This program aims to support freshmen, sophomores, and first-year transfers who are interested in pursuing undergraduate research in the humanities, arts, or social sciences.
The REU program in Computational and Applied Math (including the NSF funded UCLA REU site in Mathematical Modeling) at UCLA provides funded 8 week summer research opportunities for students to work on frontier level problems in Applied Math with UCLA faculty. A third-year PhD student at the economics department is looking for some aspiring undergraduate students to work as research assistants. This would be a good opportunity for any student who would like to get some firsthand research experience in economics.

The Patek Lab in the Biology Department at Duke University is recruiting one undergraduate student researcher through the US Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP) during the summer of 2018. The student will participate in projects examining fast, impulsive movements of organisms in the natural environment. Possible focal systems for the project are trap-jaw ants and ballistic plants and fungi.
