SAS Base Certification Exam Prep

SAS Programming I and II provide preparation for the Base SAS Certification examination. Both workshops are available and free to all currently affiliated University of California undergraduate, graduate and post-doc students, staff and faculty members from any UC campus.

  • SAS Programming I
Tuesday, May 2 through Thursday, May 4
9 am to 5 pm, 5628 Math Sciences, The Portal

This course is for users who want to learn how to write SAS programs. It is the entry point to learning SAS programming and is a prerequisite to many other SAS courses. This workshop will be presented by an instructor from SAS. This the first of two workshops in preparation for the Base SAS Certification examination.

  • SAS Programming II
Tuesday, June 20 through Thursday, June 22
9 am to 5 pm, Powell Library, CLICC Classroom C

This workshop is for those who need to learn data manipulation techniques using SAS data and procedure steps to access, transform, and summarize SAS data sets. The course builds on the concepts that are presented in the Introduction to SAS Programming I workshop and is not recommended for beginning SAS software users. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to control SAS data set input and output; combine SAS data sets; summarize, read and write different types of data; perform DO loop and SAS array processing; and transform character, numeric and date variables. This workshop will be presented by an instructor from SAS. This is the second of two workshops in preparation for the Base SAS Certification examination.

The IDRE mission is to support, advance and guide a campus-wide program to position UCLA as a world leader in research and education in computational thinking, using high performancecomputation, data visualization and data analysis of large data sets and databases.
