SAIRO Hiring Undergraduate Researchers

Tuesday, June 23, 2015

~~The Student Affairs Information and Research Office (SAIRO) is currently recruiting students to participate in a paid, year-long research and assessment internship program, the Undergraduate Research Partnership Initiative (URPI).  URPI interns will engage in a variety of qualitative research and assessment projects under the supervision of SAIRO staff, including a major project for the 15-16 academic year—a study exploring students’ use of social media as an opportunity to engage in discussion of racial/ethnic diversity and campus climate.
Students from diverse backgrounds and all majors are encouraged to apply to join a small undergraduate research team and gain valuable qualitative research experience. You do not need to have had previous research experience to participate. Members of the research team will participate in various aspects of the research and assessment process, including coding, transcription, analysis, interviewing, analysis, and writing and presenting results to UCLA administrators and the UCLA community more broadly.
Research team members must be able to commit to working between 5-10 hours per week through summer and the following academic year. All team members must be available to meet in person with the team on the following dates:
Orientation/ Hiring Paperwork: Monday, June 22nd from 9am-2pm
Bi-weekly Research Team Training/Meeting: Tuesdays from 11-1, starting July 7th through September 15th.
Materials (outlined in the attachment) should be submitted via e-mail no later than 5pm on Monday, May 25th to sairo@saonet.ucla.edu
