Program Description
The Islamic Scholarship Fund's (ISF's) mission is to address the underrepresentation of American Muslims in the fields and occupations that influence public opinion and make public policy. We expect to award 40-45 scholarships annually ranging from $2,000 to $5,000 each. Our goal is to encourage and support Muslim students to become future lawyers, politicians, journalists, film makers, and academicians that properly represent Islam and Muslims in the US. We aim to increase number of Muslim students graduating in ISF-supported fields of study and increase the number of Muslims obtaining jobs in public policy and public opinion-shaping professions. Our belief is that fostering education and improving Muslim representation in all walks of life including media and politics will lead to full integration and better understanding of Islam and Muslims. ISF is committed to building educational institutions and the advancement of knowledge and ISF believes in diversity, freedom of religion and freedom of expression. ISF supports the protection of civil rights and civil liberties for all,
