CLA Functional Analysis Group
Functional Analysis at UCLA has a long history. The most active current areas of research center around the theory of von Neumann algebras, which provide a framework for many problems ranging from ergodic theory, measurable group theory and classification of von Neumann algebras, to random matrix theory and free probability theory.
In addition to student participating seminars, the group runs the weekly Functional Analysis Seminar (Wednesdays 4-5pm in MS6627).
