Research Interests
Varadarajan's research has always been motivated
by a desire to understand the role of symmetry in mathematics and
physics.
It has not been restricted to one branch of mathematics although
a great part of it has been in the theory of Lie groups and their
applications
to quantum mechanics and quantum field theory.
In recent years, he has worked in the theory of differential
equations that are meromorphic and the associated moduli problems.
Current work centers around supersymmetry and representations of super
Lie groups and super homogeneous spaces.
